About DarkSkin Revolution Magazine

“More than a magazine — it’s a mirror, a movement, a legacy.”

Our Mission

To boldly celebrate the richness of dark skin, empower Black voices across generations, and redefine global beauty standards. We amplify the power, elegance, and talent of dark-skinned individuals in every field — from fashion and sports to culture, mindset, and history.

A Vision Rooted in Legacy

DarkSkin Revolution was born from a dream I carried in my heart for many years — a dream of visibility, representation, and pride for every shade of melanin. As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief, I envisioned a platform that didn’t just publish, but empowered. This magazine is a revolution: against invisibility, against silence, against the lie that only one shade of beauty should be seen.

The Turning Point

My deepest motivation came from a man I admired profoundly — my father. An extraordinary car mechanic, he had a dream of passing on his knowledge to younger generations. He had all the wisdom, all the skills — but not the funds, not the time. He always said: “One day.”
That day never came.
He left this world with a legacy that never reached those who needed it most.

I couldn’t let my own dream fade the same way.

That’s when I took the bold step to create DarkSkin Revolution Magazine — a platform where knowledge, creativity, and representation are never lost to silence. A promise fulfilled.

Founder & Editor-in-Chief, DarkSkin Revolution Magazine

Every revolution begins with a truth too powerful to be silenced. For me, that truth is this: our skin, our stories, our brilliance deserve to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.

When I launched DarkSkin Revolution Magazine, it was more than a publication—it was a calling. A response to a world that often asks us to lighten, to shrink, or to disappear. This platform exists to do the opposite: to amplify the richness of dark skin, to honor Black excellence across the globe, and to challenge the narratives that have long excluded us.

As a Black woman, as a daughter, and as a storyteller, I have witnessed how powerful it is to see yourself reflected in beauty, in success, in possibility. Through each issue, I hope we give that power back to those who have been waiting for it.

This space on our website is where I speak to you directly—about what inspires us, what drives us, and what lies ahead. It’s where we keep our mission alive, bold and unapologetic.

Thank you for walking this revolutionary path with us.
The journey has only just begun.

Mot de la Rédactrice en Cheffe – Blanche Etock

Depuis mon bureau

TIMELINE: BIRTH OF THE MAGAZINE & KEY MILESTONES

The Spark (Inspiration)

Early 2010s or “Years in the making”

“The idea for DarkSkin Revolution Magazine was born out of a deep desire to honor and elevate the richness of dark skin, Black beauty, and cultural excellence. Inspired by my late father — a brilliant car mechanic who couldn’t pass on his knowledge due to financial hardship — I knew it was time to pass on something greater: a movement of representation, visibility, and pride.”

Building the Dream

2022–2023

“From research to layout sketches, the vision started taking form — section by section, story by story. Building a bilingual magazine to serve a global audience wasn’t easy, but passion drove everything.”

Issue 0 — The Prototype

Date: 2023

“Issue 0 was printed in the USA — a bold, self-funded prototype that set the tone. We knew we were onto something big.”

Printing & Distribution Strategy

2025 (early)

“Sourcing quality printers in China, organizing international shipping, and setting up fulfillment logistics — the road was complex, but necessary to reach readers in the U.S., Canada, Cameroon, and beyond.”

Official Launch: Issue #1

Mid-2025

“The official launch, featuring NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo on the cover, marked a historic moment. The world was ready for the revolution.”

July 2025

“Now available on Amazon in the U.S. and Caribbean regions, with expanding distribution across Africa — starting with Cameroon and soon Ivory Coast.”

West Africa Promo Tour

July–August 2025

“The DarkSkin Revolution Tour begins — with Abidjan and Lagos on the map to introduce the magazine to key influencers, cultural figures, and changemakers.”

Next Milestones

Coming late 2025

“Two more issues are coming before year’s end, with powerful new cover figures and deeper stories of Black brilliance.”

My Personal Vision

I carry within me the memory of a father who was brilliant with his hands, yet limited by circumstance. He wanted to pass on his knowledge — not just of mechanics, but of pride, resilience, and self-worth. His story, like so many others, could have vanished in silence. But I refused to let that happen.

I created this magazine not only as a tribute to those who came before us, but as a declaration: We are here. We are worthy. We are beautiful — in every shade of dark.
My personal vision is to create a platform where representation is not the exception but the rule; where the richness of our skin, culture, and identity is honored, archived, and celebrated boldly.

This is not just a publication. It’s a personal revolution — one that I live, breathe, and fight for every single day.
